A 25-year-old newly sworn-in doctor, Fathia Ayodele Kareem, on Saturday, made history at the 23rd Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) School of Medical Sciences oath swearing and induction ceremony in Kumasi, Ghana.
Fathia set a new record as the best graduating student, taking home a dozen out of 15 awards available.
Her record becomes the highest in the 41-year establishment of the KNUST Medical School.
She hopes to specialize in the field of pediatrics/child care. When asked if she expected to get the number of awards, she said: “Yes and No. Yes because I worked hard by studying, and no because I did not expect to receive these number of awards.”
