Notorious NURTW Executive Arrested for Abducting and Raping Woman In Oyo State

The vice-chairman of Gbagi branch of the NURTW, Oyo State, Alhaji Saheed Tijani aka ‘Omo Olomo’, was arrested yesterday by the Oyo State police command for raping a 28-year-old woman, the Nation reports.

Tijani and his cohorts allegedly abducted the victim, Abosede, around 9 pm on Monday, April 4, 2016, while returning home from work. The state Commissioner of Police, Leye Oyebade, disclosed Abosede was subdued by the men who threatened her ‎with a knife.

He went on to say: “Having successfully threatened her to submission, she was abducted in the most brazen, commando-like manner and forcibly taken to an hotel where she was drugged and subsequently mercilessly raped till the next day. Tijani has since confessed to the crime.

Investigation revealed that Tijani, until his arrest, was a pain in the neck of innocent citizens, especially women who he has raped in the past. His illicit sexual escapade was known to many, but the victims could not report due to stigmatization and fear of attack. This has also earned him suspension from the union on many occasions.”
