For The Love Of D**KS: Another Nigerian Man Turns Woman (PHOTOS)


Habeeb Babatunde Lawal, now Noni Salma Lawal, graduated from the University of Lagos, Nigeria with Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts and subsequently studied Film making at the New York Film Academy, New York. He underwent the transition after he left the shores of the country.

She won the Treasure Coast International Film Festival '1st Place Student Film Competition' Award for her NYFA thesis 'Morning after mid-night' and has gone on to produce and direct the riveting short documentary 'Veil Of Silence' which premiered at the BFI Flare London LGBT Film Festival in London, UK in March 2014.

Her new thriller short 'Alibi' just won 'Best Crime Mystery' at the Manhattan film festival 2016. About her transitioning, she said: "It was a life or death situation for me. It was either transition or die."
