The incident occurred on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at about 6am, after which a Good Samaritan rushed Adeola to a general hospital.
It was learnt that a neighbour had reported to Funmi that Adeola stole from her room. However, when the neighbour was queried on what Adeola stole, she could not answer.
Funmi reportedly punished Adeola after her landlady also came to report that she sneaked into her apartment.
The hospital refused to treat Adeola insisting on a police report. A worker with the Child Protection Network was said to have been invited and the worker reported the matter to the police.
The police, thereafter, arrested Funmi, while Adeola was treated at the hospital. The primary 3 pupil, has now been taken into government’s custody.
In court, Funmi pleaded guilty to the charges and Magistrate, Mrs. A.A. Oshoniyi, sentenced her to four years imprisonment with no option of fine, on two counts bordering on child abuse.
