A lawyer, Yewande Oyediran (Nee Fatoki), was arrested on Tuesday for stabbing her husband, Oyelowo Oyediran Ajanaku, 38, to death at Akobo Estate in Ibadan, Oyo State. The husband resided in France, but had been coming home regularly since he married Yewande.
According to his niece: Lowo was living in Grenoble, France where he had two children before getting married to Yewande in Ibadan. He didn't have children out of wedlock. Yewande only didn't want him to get in touch with his children's mother. He was supposed to travel to Germany enroute France and the wife suspected that he might see his children's mother hence they started arguing. It became too hot. She stabbed him. The landlord intervened. Lowo was treated at the hospital and sent a picture to his friends of the injury. Unfortunately he went back to the house and again she stabbed him in the neck while he slept.
This last cut was deep. It was targeted at a major vein on the neck. And he died.
His brother's wife was kept from seeing his body for hours. His wife's family initially reported that she was in a coma in order to gain sympathy. This was proven to be false.

Another family source said Lowo was into property development and had come home in December 2015, to execute a job in Nigeria.
He also said that the family feared that apart from losing Lowo, the case might also be lost because the suspect worked as a counsel at the Directorate of Public Prosecutions.
“She is a lawyer with the Oyo State DPP at the Ministry of Justice. She is also the daughter of an Anglican venerable in Ibadan. As an employee of the DPP, she could truncate the case. We heard that her family is making efforts to cover up this dastardly act using the state judiciary,” he said.
Yewande led back to the scene of the crime by police detectives on February 3rd. She was outside with family members while the police carried out their investigation inside the home.
