MEET the Female Co-Pilot Who Saved the Lives of Those Aboard the Bristow Helicopter On Wednesday (PHOTO)

Six months after a 5N-BGD Bristow Sikorsky S-76C helicopter crashed at the Oworonsoki area of Lagos, another helicopter from the same company on Wednesday crashed in the ocean, off Lagos buoy.

First Nigerian female helicopter pilot, Captain Abimbola Jayeola, was the co-pilot of the ill-fated helicopter. Her split-second decision saved the lives of everyone on board and several families linked to them. Although they sustained varying degrees of injuries, all 11 occupants were rescued.

She hails from Abeokuta, Ogun State and she is a 2008 graduate of the Bristow Academy in Florida, USA.
